Strategies to Implement Population Control & Flaws With China's One Child Policy

NOTE:

I do NOT agree with the first two strategies of population control that will be mentioned in this article. They do NOT seem ethical at all, which is why I created a more balanced proposal at the very end of the article. We DO need to do something about population growth, otherwise the 21 billion people that experts say will be on earth by the year 2100 will drive our economy and resources into the toilet!

I apologize in advance if the concept of needing to be responsible for how many children each of us produce is an offensive topic to you as the reader. If this is the case, do not bother reading any further, because the whole article is on a topic that offends you.

Strategies to Implement Population Control

First and foremost, I would like to say that I never will be in favor of genocide or mass extermination of the already existing population. That seems like a heartless and unethical approach to the problem of over population that we all face.

However, extreme problems call for extreme solutions. The solutions mentioned for population control in this article may seem a little over the top, but when you realize the problem that we face against a rapidly growing population and ever dwindling natural resources, you will understand that we must do something borderline extreme to keep our world from going to hell in a hand basket.

If you haven't already read my previous article, which sets the basis for this current one, please click the following link to go back and read why it is so pressing we do something about population control and do it quickly.

Why We Need Population Control

China's 1 Child Policy has resulted in the murders of millions of baby girls and has lead to having a major imbalance in the number of boys to girls.

Limiting The Number of Children

The strategy of limiting the number of children a woman can have was originally implemented in China with their 1 Child policy. The leaders of the country thought it would be a great way to slow down and reverse their expanding and overgrowing population. China is the leading country in the world for population size, so it makes sense they were the first to try this.

The problem with this strategy, that sure enough turned out to happen, is that parents prefer to have males more than females, which lead to the parents killing their new born baby girls so they could try again and hopefully get a boy. The reason baby boys are preferred over baby girls in China is because the boys help retain the family name and stay with their parents by tradition as they start their own family. In Chinese tradition, the girls leave their original family and go live with their husband's family upon getting married. It's hard to say what would happen in a western culture where baby girls are equally as preferred as baby boys, if this strategy for population control was implemented.

However, this is a very risky way of implementing population control simply because it may lead to parents killing their babies so they can try again to have a baby with the gender of their preference.

Population Control - Eugenics
Population Control - Eugenics

POLL

POLL: What do you think we should do about the rapidly increasing population?

  • Nothing. We should continue to let people multiply out of control and just suffer whatever natural consequences arise, if any.
  • We should begin sterilizing people.
  • We should stop giving tax benefits to people with children and start giving them to people who do not produce children.
  • We should allow everyone to have one kid, then immediately sterilize them to prevent the issues that happened in China.

Mandatory Sterilization

Forced sterilizations were mostly used during the holocaust, in Nazi Germany. 400,000 men and women were forcefully sterilized. Even before Nazi Germany, eugenics were practiced in the United States, which is where the Nazis drew their first bit of inspiration. Other forced sterilizations include 800,000 people in Japan and 11,000 women in Finland. The most shocking statistic about forced sterilization is that there were over a thousand cases of it in Australia since 1992.

In the past, mandatory sterilization was not done as a means of general population control, but rather as a form of eugenics. Therefore the targeted populations were usually based on race, social class or people lacking in intelligence.

First off, I want to say that mandatory sterilization of people based on race is completely unethical and NOT okay in the slightest.  If we were to use mandatory sterilization as a means to control population growth today, how would we choose who became sterilized and who didn't?  It would make sense to sterilize people with lethal genetics such as being prone to cancer, having genes that are prone to mental retardation and other genetic diseases. We could allow the people who have the healthiest genetic qualities and longest life spans continue to have children. Imagine a world 200 years from now where only people who were genetically prone to long healthy life spans, lean, healthy bodies and good mental health were allowed to reproduce. There would be much less disease and far fewer health problems.

However, the whole concept of mandatory sterilization based on genetics seems far too much like Nazi Germany and would not be accepted by the majority of people. People with bad genetics would have a huge problem not being able to reproduce while other people who were born luckier, with better genetics would be able to.

Mandatory sterilization based on genetics can be tossed out the window of consideration, because it would not be fair.

Rockefeller Speaks About Over Population

In the video below, David Rockefeller speaks out about the pressing issue of over population.

My Proposal

My proposal ensures EVERYONE gets a chance to reproduce, regardless of their inherited genetic qualities and it also ensures no one will be tempted to murder the child they had over gender preference.

My proposal is that everyone who has not already had children is allowed to have only one child.  After they give birth to this child, they are immediately sterilized to prevent them from murdering the child and trying again to get a child of the opposite gender.

By incorporating this strategy for population control world wide, we will gradually begin decreasing the world population over time, ensuring the earth has plenty of time to regenerate its resources.  This will also ensure future generations can have a quality life full of luxury and having whatever they need, without ever going hungry.

I agree that we need some sort of population control world wide. Our exsistence is between conception and death.Life will go on without humans on earth. In our life span we must ask ourselves, do we consider are own exsistence greater than all other living life on earth? If we refuse to have population control, our own life exsistence will gradually become a life of suffering and less and less a life of living. The same will be worse for future generations to come. Those with large families do not consider the statements above.Humans will be humans making there lifes all the more important than other life on earth.I ask, is this a proven fact spiritually or scientifically? The U.S. is still the superpower in this world and other countries around the world look up to us.The U.S. should try to make the most humanitarian population control program as possible. If people were rewarded for having less children for say a tax credit, discounted health care,or educational aid for exsisting children. Then families may consider population control for themselves knowing that the government has taken a strong stand to reduce the population. The population contol program must constantly educate the public to why these efforts are needed to raise the quality of life for all for generations to come.

I think stress causes over population, because strees makes some people have relations.Environmental stresses, economic stresses,Oppression, you name it. Everything has an out put and input to it, energy exchanges. When people are built up with stress people release themselves in a number of ways. Especially if they are a product of their environment.A conjested enviroment can cause people to display irrational behavior, and cause some people to act animalistic.
